FAQ'S
01
WE LOVE IT, WHAT’S NEXT?
CONTRACT AND 50% INITIAL PAYMENT.
Let us know what coverage you need and we will put together your contract.
Read it, sign it, get us your payment, and you are in!
The rest is due 30 days before the big day, along with any travel costs (we will invoice you).
02
WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH HOTELS?
ONE WORD, INSURANCE.
If we fly, we get there at least 2 days before we start shooting to ensure we get there in plenty of time, you never know (and it has happened). But also because when we shoot your wedding, we have to get it right. We are there the day before to check out the venue, source locations, check light and shoot b-roll for your film. You can also hire us to shoot your rehearsal dinner, or any activities you have planned. If you don't hire us to shoot the rehearsal, often we will still pop in to say hi to meet your fam and friends before the big day...having a drink together before can go a long way in making people comfortable on the wedding day!! The more people know us and feel comfortable with us, the better your pictures and video are - a proven fact!
It also ensures that we are only minutes away from you, instead of potentially being stuck in an airport somewhere or on a road in the middle of a Brasilian carnival with no way to get to you in time. We stay up to four or five days, as we often do a day-after shoot, which adds SO many opportunities to find more cool locations to shoot with no time limits. Highly recommended for destination weddings and evening weddings!
If your location does not require us to fly, but it is an hour away by car (and/or traffic), we will stay in a hotel the night before and the night of the event. Again, this is to ensure that we are there with no issues to worry about. We work super long hours, so falling into a bed nearby is the safest and best option for us after your raging party. We book everything (most of the time), and you reimburse us.
03
WHAT TIME DO YOU START / FINISH?
YOU TELL US.
We pretty much start when you do - we get there nice and early to shoot details and to let everyone get comfortable with us and the cameras - don’t worry, we aren’t there to blackmail you with tons of photos of you with no makeup on! We stay well into the night, and don’t do fake cake cutting or first dances. You can only tell the story by being there for the story, and besides, some of the best moments happen at the party...plus, given the right vibe, you will see us turn out the dance floor! We include up to 10 hours of coverage, and any additional hours are charged.
04
DO WE FEED YOU?
IN A WORD, YES.
We do require that we eat the same meal as guests (all courses), but we don’t have to be seated with your guests - we do not accept Vendor Meals. Most venues and caterers will be very used to feeding vendors, so should easily be able to help to organize this. The biggest thing about this for you to know, is that we need to eat at the SAME TIME that you and your guests are eating...not at the end of your meal. The reason for this is because we often need to go right back in to shoot speeches / toasts, and if we don't get our food until the very end of your dinner, we don't actually get to eat, and trust me, this is not good for anyone. Hangry ain't cute...and you want us to be able to concentrate on the important stuff! This is our only break of the 10+ hour day, so we value it very much!! Talk to your coordinator / venue AND caterer about this - the caterer often deliberately does not adhere to this request, especially if it does not come from you!
05
DO YOU DO ALBUMS?
ABSOLUTELY.
We have really rad albums. You can purchase them separately, which means you can save up or talk someone (Dad) into buying one for you as a gift. There is no expiration date on when you can order, and tons of options available. We custom quote albums, so let us know what you like!
06
DO YOU WORK SEPERATELY?
NO. ISH....
Imagine if you went into work to do the most important project you had EVER worked on, and you were thrown together with another creative team.... who you had never worked with and had totally different ideas. Then you had to say hi and just get on with making something epic. Sound like a potential disaster?! It can be. It is honestly hard enough for Maria and I to always agree with each other on locations and shooting positions.... and we are married AND on the same team! Our best work is done together - your images and films will be beautifully consistent if we do. There are a few fellow creatives out there that we will make exceptions for, but for the most part, we prefer to work together. Talk to us about it and we will help if we can!
07
DO YOU WORK DIRECTLY WITH OUR COORDINATOR?
YES. ISH...
We always work with your coordinator to figure out logistical things, like timing, etc. We don't, however ONLY deal with your coordinator - in fact, our relationship should be with YOU, our client. Sometimes clients will pass this onto the coordinator or a parent, but we don't work that way. To get the best out of our work, we have to know you! We need a relationship so that you feel comfortable and super happy to have us at your side on the best day ever - it just wouldn't be the same otherwise.
